Short Description
The trained Surgical technologist, under the direct supervision of the Registered Professional Nurse and/or physician, is assigned as an assistant to specific service areas in the Surgical Suite.
Overview
The Cooper Surgery Center at Moorestown is a modern outpatient facility with six operating rooms, two procedure rooms, and an interventional radiology suite. Patients receive seamless care from pre-operative assessment through recovery, supported by a skilled surgical team and advanced technology. Specialties include general, orthopedic, gastrointestinal, gynecologic, vascular, and other minimally invasive procedures designed for faster recovery and greater comfort. Care goals are designed to reduce pain, limit complications, and help patients return to normal activity sooner.
Experience Required
- 1 year of Surgical Technologist experience is preferred.
Education Requirements
- Graduate of a nationally or regionally accredited educational program for Surgical Technologists
License/Certification Requirements
- Certified Surgical Technologist Credential administered by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or its successor, or other nationally recognized credentialing organization (e.g. NCCT – National Center for Competency Testing, etc.).
Special Requirements
- 6:30A-5P
- Must annually complete 15 hours of continuing education to remain qualified to practice as a Surgical Technologist in NJ
