<p></p> <p><strong>Position Summary:</strong></p> <p>The Medical Assistant plays a pivotal role in supporting dermatology physicians by delivering high-quality patient care. Responsibilities include patient rooming, updating medical histories, documenting visit details, and assisting with various dermatological procedures such as biopsies, surgeries, and skin treatments.</p> <p><strong>Essential Functions:</strong></p> <p>To perform effectively in this role, the candidate must fulfill the following duties with or without reasonable accommodations:</p> <ul> <li>Collaborate with a team to manage an average patient volume of up to 40 patients daily.</li> <li>Document patient histories, including history of present illness (HPI), medical, surgical, and family history, medications, and allergies.</li> <li>Prepare and assist with dermatological and cosmetic procedures, including ED&amp;Cs, biopsies (shave and punch), ILK, I&amp;D, Botox, laser treatments, excisions, and other surgical interventions.</li> <li>Administer local anesthesia and remove sutures as directed.</li> <li>Ensure strict adherence to sterile techniques and infection control practices.</li> <li>Perform scribing responsibilities, including inputting templates and chart notes as directed by physicians.</li> <li>Process prescription refills and manage prior authorizations.</li> <li>Log pathology samples and coordinate with appropriate laboratories.</li> <li>Operate specialized equipment such as Narrowband UVB and photodynamic therapy units.</li> <li>Maintain and replenish liquid nitrogen containers.</li> <li>Clean and stock examination rooms and supply areas.</li> <li>Ensure adherence to organizational infection control protocols.</li> <li>Maintain reliable and consistent attendance.</li> <li>Perform other duties as assigned by the supervising physician or department lead.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Knowledge, Skills, &amp; Responsibilities:</strong></p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma or GED required.</li> <li>3 years of medical assistant experience with Credentials, preferably in Dermatology/Cosmetics.</li> <li>Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.</li> <li>Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate patient records.</li> <li>Effective communication and teamwork skills.</li> <li>&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p>This role requires a proactive, dependable, and detail-oriented individual with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic healthcare environment.
